Buffet in MMS milk paint-Eulalie's Sky

Last week I found this needy buffet at the Flea Market and even though is was big I loaded it up in my car and brought it home.
Before:
I love the size, details, and hardware, but it was pretty dinged up so it needed a good paint job.  I have a very similar buffet in my home and I painted it with MMS milk paint and love it so I decided to do the same with this one.  I pulled out MMS Eulalie’s Sky and got to mixing.  After getting out all the lumps I painted 2 coats on the buffet and let it dry for a few hours.  I didn't add the bonding agent because I wanted the paint to chip and it did its Magic!  I scraped the buffet with my spackle knife and all the loose chips came off.  LOVE the chippiness! The last step was to seal this beauty with dark wax and hemp oil.  

(It was difficult to get the right light for these photos, but I tried my best)

    This is stunning and I LOVE the color. It looks like mahogany, something that would normally bleed with chalk paint, did you prime at all or just paint right over it. I must have this color! So authentic looking.

    The paint looks like it is multi-colored, is that how it always looks? In parts I see some turquoise , where overall it looks mint green. Do you put the dk wax on first and then the hemp oil? Why do you use hemp oil? Love the sideboard, I have one that I painted dk turquoise and then put the dr wax on top to age it. Very Pretty, but I love your colors and have a table that I might want to try if there is turquoise showing thru as well.

      Thank you Suzy-milk paint has variations in the color due to the minerals I think. I love that part of milk paint. This color is an aqua not a green-bright sunlight in my photos make it seem more greenish I guess. I dip my brush in the hemp oil and then the dark wax and then I brush on the piece.

      This piece looks amazing and it is beautiful with your lamps. I love how the new finish highlights all the details of the buffet. My grandmother had a similar buffet in her dining room when I was growing up and seeing your beautiful piece really makes me wish we still had it.

    Beautiful job! Eulalie's has always been one of my fave MMS colors too. I like the way the variation in color really worked for you on this piece. Lovely.
