I am always on the hunt for furniture and other treasures and when I spotted this piece at the Goodwill I was swooning.
Before:
The wood of the drawers were beautiful and I wanted to keep them since the rest of the wood was in need of some help. I pulled out Olive by The Urban Rooster and started to paint away. After 2 coats of paint, I distresses and sealed the whole piece, including the wood drawer fronts, with dark wax/hemp oil.
I love the contrast of the green and wood and think they compliment each other!

DeleteHello! I've been subscribing for a while, and really love your transformations. I've noticed you mention using dark wax and hemp oil quite a bit. Could you clarify how you use them? Do you mix the two together? I'm getting ready to use hemp oil for the first time, and am intrigued. Thanking you in advance! Cynthia
ReplyDeleteThank you Cynthia-I do not have a lot of patience so this method is fast and easy for me. I dip my brush in the hemp oil and then directly in the wax container and brush it on the piece. I can paint the oil/wax mister on like paint and then rub in/off with a cloth. This way it lets me control the dark wax and it is easy! Sometimes I just use the hemp oil or tung oil only.
