Lady of Spring

When I visited Atelier De Campagne a few weeks ago,  I went with my Parisian Friend.  She loves to go junking with me and we always go to the container sales together.  She loves visiting Atelier De Campagne because she is reminded of home and sees many things that she remembers from growing up in Paris.  She bought a beautiful large cement statue called  Le Printemps that day.  We called her the Lady of Spring.  When she brought the statue home it was very black and dirty since it had been outside for a long time.  After scrubbing at the statue she had discolored it, and it looked bad so she brought Le Printemps to me.  I can not find the before picture, but here is a similar statue. 
The Lady of Spring was very blotchy and orangey from the scrubbing and this was not the look for my friend.  She needed Le Printemps to be lovely again. D.D. to the rescue.  I painted it with  The Urban Rooster  chalky paint in Marshmallow Cream and then using tung oil and dark wax I aged her.  My Friend was so happy to have the lovely lady back!

    Darielle, it is such a beautiful statue. Your wax application is applied just perfectly. Great job in making her up!
