I heard about a product you could buy that lets you make a chalkboard out of anything so I went to my local craft/fabric store and found it. It's called Clear Chalkboard coating by Americana.
Once again my daughter had some broken karate boards so I decided to use them to see if this product really worked.
Here are the plain wood boards:
Since Valentines Day is coming up I decided to mix some "Valentiney" colors--red-pink-green. I just got out some craft paints and mixed away.
I let them dry (with the help of my blow dryer--I am very impatient at times!). I next painted on the chalkboard coating--one coat vertical and one coat horizontal.
The next step was to coat the boards with chalk, wipe off, and then see if I could write on them.
Worked like a charm!
This product worked very well and was easy to use so now I can do more projects!
