My husband thinks I am a little crazy because I want to change my buffet again. I just sold our china hutch and painted a new French Provincial buffet last month and now have painted another buffet!
Old buffet:
I found my new buffet on Craigslist. I really wanted a buffet that was a little taller and chippy.
Before:
It was a beautiful buffet but had some issues with the top and the sides.
I mixed up some Miss Mustard Seed Milk paint in French Enamel Blue and went to town painting. This buffet is really large and heavy so it took a good chunk of my morning to paint. After it dried I got out my scraper and scraped away for the great chippiness. To seal the paint I used my hemp oil/dark wax technique I love it!

You are amazing, I love all your stuff... Thanks for the inspiration! Maria
ReplyDeleteOMG! We have the same buffet! Mine is still the original Mahogany finish...it was my Aints and in goof shape, but I have the matching table and chairs too. Those pieces have been abused and need some wood filler and paint. Lol..still on the to do list,
ReplyDeleteI've wanted one of these buffets for so long. I'm hoping my luck will pan out eventually. Totally love this.

My Mom has a sideboard very similar to that one. Wish I had room for it, because I'd steal it in a heartbeat and paint it just like this one! Luscious color and love the brown peaking through! xoxoxo
