Finds of the day at Goodwill-including an Ironstone piece |
I thought the chair would look good in a soft blue color so I took out some home-made chalk paint that I had made the day before in Mills Springs Blue by Benjamin Moore and painted the chair. After distressing a little I sealed it with hemp oil/clear wax with just a touch of dark wax in places.
It's now on my back deck but will be heading to Mes Amis next week to find a new home.
I love how it turned out and it actually might stay on my deck!

Thank you Deborah! I love it too and it might just stay on my back deck. I love hydrangeas so I have many around my house both inside and out. Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! It is a perfect old chair! Now- I have to find hemp oil-this is about the third time I have heard it mentioned. Is it actually an oil? xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThank you Diana! I first bought my hemp oil from MMS and I love how easy it is to use. I actually use it with the wax and it seals paint easy peasy. You can buy it from MMS or on amazon from man y companies. I have recently also found it cheap locally. I would give it a try.
DeleteCute chair...I like it both unfinished and finished!
