Bistro Chair

While perusing my local Goodwill Store I spotted this beat up old bistro chair and knew it could be a stunner.
Before:

Finds of the day at Goodwill-including an Ironstone piece

I thought the chair would look good in a soft blue color so I took out some home-made chalk paint that I had made the day before in Mills Springs Blue by Benjamin Moore and painted the chair.  After distressing a little I sealed it with hemp oil/clear wax with just a touch of dark wax in places.
It's now on my back deck but will be heading to Mes Amis next week to find a new home.

  2. Thank you Deborah! I love it too and it might just stay on my back deck. I love hydrangeas so I have many around my house both inside and out. Happy Easter!

  3. That looks great! It is a perfect old chair! Now- I have to find hemp oil-this is about the third time I have heard it mentioned. Is it actually an oil? xo Diana

    1. Thank you Diana! I first bought my hemp oil from MMS and I love how easy it is to use. I actually use it with the wax and it seals paint easy peasy. You can buy it from MMS or on amazon from man y companies. I have recently also found it cheap locally. I would give it a try.

  6. Great find and love the color you painted it....when I was in France, I pointed out a cute "bistro chair" and they told me they call it a "park chair"...a chair that you fold and take to the park....never knew that...and gorgeous hydrangeas!!!
