I read Miss Mustard Seed's blog post about her re-doing her rocking horse awhile ago and kept the vision in my head. This week while at a thrift store I saw a ceramic rocking horse and immediately thought of MMS rocking horse.
Before:
I wanted to paint it with milk paint and make it chippy. I mixed up MMS Ironstone milk paint and started to paint.
After one layer:
I layered the horse with many coats of MMS Ironstone and then I had to take my daughter to swim practice so I was not able to see how it dried. The next day when I looked at the horse it was not chippy but very crackled. I love how it turned out but was going for a chippy look.

I think it looks much better now!

DeleteDarrille, it is wonderful. I like both the chippy and crackle effects. I am always in a middle of painting something when I have to bring the girls to their swim class or ballet. Someone always point out the fact that I have paint in my hair or my face. Now I am known as a paint lady.
