Grey Antique Dresser and how to tint your wax

Last week I found this gorgeous, but very damaged dresser at the Flea Market and brought it home.

I also bought some new chalk paint from a very cute couple who had just started their line of chalky paints:  Urban Rooster (theurbanrooster).  I usually y mix up my own chalk paints, but decided to give this paint a try.  I painted this dresser in Smokey Ash and I really like the grey color and the consistency of the paint.  I will be buying more!

I wanted the top of the dresser to be natural, so I sanded it down and sealed it with dark wax and hemp oil.  

I have been wanting to try a tinted wax for awhile and this dresser had gorgeous details that I knew would pop with some white wax.   First  I took a few spoonfuls of AS clear wax out of the tin with a plastic spoon and added it to an empty yogurt container.  I then added about 1-2  spoonfuls of white paint to the wax and stirred it up. 

After painting the dresser with 2 coats of Smokey Ash I started to wax the dresser.  I dipped my brush in the white wax and "painted" it on the dresser and wiped off/rubbed in the wax.  I love how it stayed in the grooves of the wood details and gave the dresser a weathered/worn look.

For the details around the drawers I handprinted them with some white chalk paint.
