Lucketts Green Chippy Desk

Last week while browsing at the Goodwill I found this great old desk with dove tailed drawers and lots of potential. 
Before:

I knew this piece would look good in a chippy green milk paint so I loaded it up and brought it home.  I wanted the top to be natural wood so I got out my sander and started working.
Yucky top

 After the top was sanded down I sealed it with dark wax and a little hemp oil.  The next step for me was to mix up Lucketts Green Milk Paint by Miss Mustard Seed and start painting.  After 2 coats the magic started to happen-Chippiness! 
After the desk dried I scraped away the chips of paint and then sealed it with my mixture of hemp oil/dark wax.  I added new knobs from D. Lawless to finish it off.

    Lucketts Green is a favorite of mine...I used it on my computer desk which looks very similar to this one.

    You definitely found a gem of a piece to bring back to better than new! Great color and pretty pics with the hydrangeas. The little stool is pretty with it, too.

    Wow! Looking at the "before" pictures, I would have thought the top was beyond saving. It looks amazing. Great job!

    It's amazing how beautiful that wood top turned out. It's gorgeous now. You did a wonderful job, bringing the desk back to life :)

    Wow, I have never used milk paint but have heard how it just chips itself. I have such a hard time distressing so that it looks good. I will have to try it. LOVE the color you chose. I can't believe how great the top of the desk came out!
