Making Rounds of Wood into Signs

Awhile back while I was visiting my Grandmother, I saw rounds of firewood in her backyard and I thought they would be great to make something with.  I asked my Dad to cut them thinner and he was nice enough to oblige.  

My friend Suzan came over and we decides to paint and use the rounds of wood.  

She wanted to use a sunny yellow and I wanted an aqua, so I mixed up some homemade chalk paint and we got to painting.  To make the words on her wood, Suzan painted  a foam letter and then stamped it on the wood ( you have to fill in the edges of some of the words with a paintbrush since the wood in rough and uneven).  I had to free-hand draw my letters since I only had lower case foam stamps.  We added little dots around the edges and then outlined the words in a thin Sharpie marker. 

This was a fun and easy project to do and Suzan and I had a great time talking and painting!
