Cutie Pie Dresser with a New Top

A few weeks ago I found a cute dresser that was missing its top and some knobs and I loaded it up and brought it home.
Before:
The dresser is solid wood and I loved the details on the sides and drawer front and I knew it could be a stunner with some help.  I cut out a new top from some extra wood I had and glued and nailed in on.
I decided that this dresser looked cute and coastal to me, so I mixed up my own custom color using  The Urban Rooster chalk paint in Coastal Bliss, Green Acres and Marshmallow Cream.

I gave the dresser two coats of paint and then sealed it with Tung Oil/AS dark wax.  This combination gives the dresser an aged look and protects it.

After distressing the edges with my scraper, I added new glass knobs.

Love the detail on the drawer!

  1. Aww, you managed to save a headless dresser. You did what I would have been hesitant to do. Very smart to add the top and it looks like it's been there forever. Love the color and the pretty knobs you've added.
