The Girly Corner

Last week a local owner of a children's store, asked me if I could put together a girly corner for her shop. She just opened up a bigger store and wanted to add a few vintage touches.  I of course said "Yes"!

I had this very cute chair upholstered in vintage fabric for my daughter's cottage awhile back, but she did not like to sit and read in it since it did not have sides, so I decided to let it go.  I wanted to build the look around this piece.

Before:
I had this lower French Provincial dresser in my workshop and decided that it needed to be pink.  I pulled out Cotton Candy by the Urban Rooster Chalky Paint  and painted it with 2 coats.  Using an artist brush, I painted the details with  white.

I sealed the dresser with AS dark wax/Linseed oil.

I love the hardware!

I think the vintage fabric is so fresh and cute!

I also included a vintage twin cane headboard I had in my workshop to complete the Girly Corner.

The Store owner loves the girly corner!

  1. Your girly corner is divinely feminine. It would encourage any young girl to daydream about garden parties and a Prince on a White horse bringing a bouquet of pretty pastels that magically appear to match the chairs upholstery. OK lots of words to say your arrangement looks dreamy fairytale like.
