Vintage Green Farm Desk

Once again I was at the Flea Market and I found this great farm desk/table that needed a little care.  I fell in love with the legs!  Of course I bought it and brought it home!

Before:

In my mind I was picturing a vintage green desk and so I went to my local paint store, Kings Paint, and found a green I liked
(Aurora Borealas by Benjamin Moore).

I mixed up my own chalk paint and painted the desk.  I next wet distressed the desk so the white would show throughout and some of the wood.  This step was a sweating step!  The last thing to do was to wax and be done.

A little bench I found at the Flea Market

I love a green piece of furniture!

  3. I love the color and the name of the color of your farm desk - great makeover! I admire those of you who make your own chalk paint (I'm still too chicken to try it). You desk and cute little stool caught my eye over at the Inspiration Exchange Party!

  16. Can you give a little more detail about which paint you used on each layer and your steps/method? I have never painted anything to look old.
