4 Grey Chairs with Ticking

As most of you know I have been re-doing my husband's new office at work.  I painted a French Provincial table for his conference room, but have been looking for chairs for awhile. I found 4 that I thought would be good for the office and were in my price range (cheap - this is all a donation since  my husband is an administrator at a public school).
Before:
The wood actual looks nicer in the photo then in real life-dark brown and ugly.

Now I hate painting chairs and was not looking forward to transforming these, but I bit the bullet and got to work.  First I spray painted them grey and then painted them with home-made chalk paint.  The spray paint made for fewer coats of paint.  After the paint dried I upholstered them in ticking fabric and sealed them with hemp oil.  I am happy with them and I hope my husband is too!

  1. I think they look great! I love the grey! What is the shield? What does that represent? Love it too. Blessings!

    1. Thank you Patty-the shield is an antique flag holder from France. On flag day you put little flags in the holes in the back and hang on your door or where ever. I just love it and I bought it with my French friend.

  2. The ticking fabric is perfect with your paint color! Here's to finding two more.
