Pretty Green Dresser

Happy New Year to Everyone!  I started the new year off with a bang with this cutie.
Before:
I found this dresser on CL and even though it was Ugly I knew it had potential.  Under all the rusty brown paint there was an antique beauty waiting to come out.  I stripped the top to natural wood and then stained and sealed it with hemp oil/dark wax.  I decided that the dresser needed to be green so I mixed up a vintage green chalk paint and got to painting.  I wanted the details to pop so I accented them with white chalk paint and then sealed and aged the dresser with dark wax.

You can now see the original details

Cute little legs

Natural Wood Top

The wood under the paint was gorgeous

  4. I love that you called it Ugly with a capital "U". Ha! And now it is the ugly duckling that turned into a swan. I love how you popped the details with white paint. Lovely job!

  13. Well, I think your choice of green was inspired. That rust color did nothing for it. Your chest now has personality and not just because of its bones and color. Your white trim is a great touch. I saw your link at the Vintage Inspiration Party. Ann Marie @ Iris Abbey www.irisabbey.com
