Berger and White Wax

As most of you know, I have a thing for painting dressers!  I found this great one at a local thrift store and it had to be loaded up and brought home.
Before:
The dresser is structurally sound and has great bones, but was pretty dinged and scratched up.  Berger by  Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint had just come in the mail and I wanted to try it on this piece.  Berger is a soft blue/grey and I thought this dresser would look stunning in it. After mixing the powder into paint, I painted on two coats and let the chippy magic happen!
I helped the chippiness  along by scraping it with my spackle knife.    Miss Mustard Seed's White wax had also come in the package, so I decided to use it on this piece too.  This wax is wonderful and so easy to use.  I dipped my wax brush into the wax and then brushed it on the dresser and wiped it in/off with a cotton rag.

I love how the white wax gives the dresser a washed, muted look.  It makes it look worn and soft sort of like driftwood.

I love the details

Gorgeous hardware

Chippy Goodness!

I love the legs and the wooden castors!

  6. Really lovely! I have to laugh though. I just put together a pile of stuff for a 'giveaway' that I'm posting on my blog on Thursday (a Thanksgiving giveaway) and I threw in a bag of Bergere. Now you're making me think I should be keeping that! But no, I'm still going to give it away along with some other fun stuff. Be sure to check it out while your turkey is cooking on Thursday ;-)

  10. Love the fun in this chest of drawers, you do so many cool pieces dear, I want to see a home tour with all the amazing pieces you keep. I was visiting Victoria and her Bella' s new black room and saw that you said your daughters room is black and white, I would love to see a post on this room. Was not Victoria's daughters room so dramatic, so reagal looking.

    See you soon dear,
A happy thanksgiving to you and your family.

    Xx

    1. Thank you Dore-I do have a lot of my painted pieces around my house. My daughters rooms is more white then black, but there is no color in it and it sort of a modern, vintage look. My daughter loves books and doesn't like this ornate so this room has books shelves for lots of books. My daughter will be 13 soon and so she is figuring out what her current style is.
