From Dining Table to Desk: Farmhouse Style

When I have time, I like to look at the furniture for sale on Craigslist.  I spotted a drop leaf table for sale and was interested.

Before:
I thought this table had potential as a desk or a console table, so I bought it.

When I got it home, I sanded down the middle section of the table.

I unscrewed the side leaves and was left with just the long narrow middle section which I sealed with AS dark wax/Linseed oil.

I mixed up my own vintage green color and made it into chalk paint.

After painting the base of the table and distressing the edges,  I sealed it too with AS dark wax and Linseed Oil.

This table went from uneven dinning table to a great desk or console table with a lot more function and practicality.

Hydrangea love

Loving the legs!

I love how this table turned out and my client bought it for her husband's home office.

  4. Mmmm. Nice job. What are you going to do with the two side pieces? There must be some way to up-cycle them, right?!

    1. Thank you Naomi-the client who bought it the table for his desk took the side pieces too just in case he ever wanted to use them again for a table. I thought they would also make a good top for another table.
