San Francisco Bay Blue Highboy Dresser

As usual I was at the Flea Market this weekend and found a dresser.  As you all know, I have a thing for dressers!
Before:
This dresser is very heavy and made in Michigan with dove tailed drawers.  It had a lot of scratches and dings, but I knew it could be gorgeous.  I had bought some paint by Pittsburgh Paint Co. called San Francisco Bay Blue because I live a little bit south of SF on the beach and I wanted a color that reminded me of where I live. I made this great blue color into home made chalk paint and got busy painting.  After 2 coats of paint, I hand painted the gorgeous detail at the top with white chalk paint.  After distressing I sealed the dresser with dark wax and hemp oil.  I love the blue and the how the detail at the top now pops!

This is a big dresser so I hope it sells fast so I can get another!

  5. So pretty! I love that you painted out the white detail. When I first saw it, I thought you had added a ceramic border. You really personalized it.
