It is time for a Furniture flip for February for the Fab Furniture Flippin' Contest
This months theme is a "Make a Statement" and it is sponsored by DecoArt .
Disclosure: DecoArt provided me the paint for each of these pieces, but all opinions are my own.
I found this French Provincial Dresser by Basset at the local Goodwill Store and thought it would be a great piece to make a statement with.
Before:
I could have just refinished this in a soft Frenchy color, but I decided to go bold and sort of bohemian with it instead. I had received New Life by DecoArt and it is a very Springy Green. I painted the dresser with two coats of the green, and I found the paint easy to use and it had great coverage. I had also ordered the Deep Brown Creme wax from DecoArt .
After the paint had dried, I sealed and aged the dresser with the Creme Wax by painting it on to the dresser and then wiping it off/in with a cotton cloth. I love how the creme wax made the finish smooth and not tacky, and it dried very quickly.
I wanted the dresser to have a "wow" factor to it since the green is so bright and I decided to add some gold.
I pulled out Pharaoh's Gold Metallic paint by Modern Masters. This is a bright shiny gold metallic paint and I thought it would be great to use on the details for "Bold" look.
I hand painted the gold on the details with an artist brush and I love the POP!
The last step was adding the hardware back on and taking some photos!
I think this dresser would "make a statement" in any room!
This BOLD style and color is out of character for me, but I love how it turned out and that is one thing I like about participating in the Fab Furniture Flipping Contest, I get to learn and grow in ways I wouldn't by myself!
If interested in participating in this contest going forward, please contact the lovely Evey at info@eveyscreations.com or Stacy at info@anastasiavintage.com. Tune in all month to see the gorgeous entries for DecoArt Americana’s Chalky Finish “Make a Statement.”
