Mill Springs Blue

This dresser came to me with great lines, but it was really scratched and dinged up.

Before:

This dresser was very dark and shiny and I thought it would look good in a Springy color that was cheerful.  I pulled out Mill Springs Blue by Benjamin Moore and made it into home-made chalk paint and then started painting away.

After painting the dresser with 2 coats of paint, I distressed it lightly and sealed it with AS dark wax/Linseed oil.

I love how the paint brings out the details and makes this a cheerful dresser now.

I love the curvy front!

Gorgeous hardware

  4. Love, love, love that color. You and I must have some kind of psychic connection or something. I'm just finishing up a piece in a very similar color, although mine is painted in MMS milk paint. I mixed French Enamel and Lucketts, and the result color is very similar to yours. Maybe just a tad less green. We are clearly on the same wavelength Darrielle!

  10. Beautiful makeover, beautiful color, and beautiful bones on that dresser! Having such a shiny finish, did you have to do any sanding or priming for the paint to stick?

    1. Thank you Marie-I did not sand or prime-just painted with my home-made chalk paint! Easy Peasy!
