This dresser came to me with great lines, but it was really scratched and dinged up.
Before:
This dresser was very dark and shiny and I thought it would look good in a Springy color that was cheerful. I pulled out Mill Springs Blue by Benjamin Moore and made it into home-made chalk paint and then started painting away.
After painting the dresser with 2 coats of paint, I distressed it lightly and sealed it with AS dark wax/Linseed oil.
I love how the paint brings out the details and makes this a cheerful dresser now.
I love the curvy front! |
Gorgeous hardware |
What a gorgeous piece and just look at the color you chose and oh how you accomplished this gently distressed look. Marvelous!
ReplyDeleteI hope you were able to share this with us today at #TOHOT.

DeleteLove, love, love that color. You and I must have some kind of psychic connection or something. I'm just finishing up a piece in a very similar color, although mine is painted in MMS milk paint. I mixed French Enamel and Lucketts, and the result color is very similar to yours. Maybe just a tad less green. We are clearly on the same wavelength Darrielle!
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda-i think it is our "painting connection" I love the color !

DeleteBeautiful makeover, beautiful color, and beautiful bones on that dresser! Having such a shiny finish, did you have to do any sanding or priming for the paint to stick?
ReplyDeleteThank you Marie-I did not sand or prime-just painted with my home-made chalk paint! Easy Peasy!
DeleteThe shape and the color both combine to make that piece gorgeous. I'd love to have something like that in the entry. :)
