Chippy Buffet

My husband thinks I am a little crazy because I want to change my buffet again.  I just sold our china hutch and painted a new French Provincial buffet last month and now have painted another buffet!
Old buffet:

I found my new buffet on Craigslist.  I really wanted a buffet that was a little taller and chippy.
Before:

It was a beautiful buffet but had some issues with the top and the sides.
I mixed up some Miss Mustard Seed Milk paint in French Enamel Blue and went to town painting.  This buffet is really large and heavy so it took a good chunk of my morning to paint.  After it dried I got out my scraper and scraped away for the great chippiness.  To seal the paint I used my hemp oil/dark wax technique   I love it!

Box my father in law made for me out of old barn wood

This Buffet will be staying!

French Enamel Stool

I was painting a buffet today in MMS French Enamel Blue Milk paint and had a little extra so I pulled out an old brown stool I had picked up ages ago.  I can't find the before picture, but imagine a plain dark brown stool that was blah.

I painted the stool with the milk paint and then got out my scraper and scraped off the chips and did a quick sand.  The last step was adding my hemp oil/dark wax finish.

I love the chippiness!

Angels--(how to age an angel)

When I am out looking for treasures angles and cherubs always catch my eye and if they are solid and priced well I will usually buy them.  At the last show  I had a display of angles and they were gone fast.  Here are a few I transformed this week.
Before:

Cute and gold

I mixed up some Coco home-made chalk paint and painted the angels.

After drying with my hair dryer- I painted them with white chalk paint and quickly wiped down.

I like it when the white stays in the crevices.  Waxing was the last step.

I love dried roses

Pretty in Pink

A client gave me a small bench and wanted me to make it pink and girly for her shop.

Before:

The bench had a great look so I mixed up a custom pink chalk paint and went through my stash of fabric and got busy.  I painted the piece in a lovely girly pink and then distressed the edges.  To seal the paint I used hemp out/AS dark wax and I love how it turned out.

Beautiful flowers from Lina Floral

My client loved it and it looks great in her shop!
