Angels--(how to age an angel)

When I am out looking for treasures angles and cherubs always catch my eye and if they are solid and priced well I will usually buy them.  At the last show  I had a display of angles and they were gone fast.  Here are a few I transformed this week.
Before:

Cute and gold

I mixed up some Coco home-made chalk paint and painted the angels.

After drying with my hair dryer- I painted them with white chalk paint and quickly wiped down.

I like it when the white stays in the crevices.  Waxing was the last step.

I love dried roses

  1. I so like how these turned out, your technique really shows the details!!! I've "aged" quite a few of these using other methods but I'm going to give your process a try. I like to change up the look of them. I have angels tucked into numerous vignettes at my shop and home...I find them comforting.

  5. Your technique worked perfectly! I have an old angel that was out in my neighbor's garden for years and so is naturally aged. But it looks very similar to your faux aged one! Thanks for sharing at Fridays Unfolded!

  8. These turned out great — but I thought you were going to say that the way to age an angel was to give them teenagers!
    Hahaha!
