Long Farm Table/Desk

I was at the Flea Market again and as I was walking by a stall that sold army knives and other weapons I spied an old pine table.  It was covered with vintage knives and other manly things, but I asked the vendor if the table was for sale.  He said yes, but I think he thought I was a little crazy.  I am kinda of use to people thinking I am strange for liking old beat up things!  After clearing the table off, I loaded it up and took it home.
Before:

I decided to to sand down the top and paint the rest with Milk paint.
Sanding:

Beautiful Pine:
I love all the dings and scratches in the wood.  It was in a workshop so it has a lot of character which I love.
I added AS dark wax and love it!

The next step was to mix up milk paint in Buttermilk and paint away.  After drying I scraped and then waxed.
Stunning!

Love the chippiness!

This Might be a keeper!

  1. Oh my gosh I love this table/desk! What a great transformation. Funny, I also love hydrangeas (yours are beautiful) and I have that exact same silver champagne cooler or "loving cup". I also have the same boxwood wreaths (Antique Farmhouse) and I collect vintage suitcases. I found you on The Scoop. Would love to follow but don't see a GFC option. ?

I also love the sweet vignette you created with the stool and the cubbyhole shelf above.
