I am so glad I am able to create a post-my computer has been on the fritz and I have lost a lot, but still managed to find a few pictures.
This months Fab Furniture Flipping contest was sponsored by General Finishes and the theme was creating something with a geometric pattern using GF paint that they so kindly donated to the participants.
I decided to makeover a very simple and basic dresser I had into something with pizzaz and interest.
Before:
I was folding laundry one day and noticed how much I liked a pair of my husband's argyle socks, so I decided my dresser would also look good in argyle! I had ordered Corinth Blue Milk Paint from General Finishes , but the color was darker then I was picturing for my argyle print, so I lightened the blue with white to get a preppy blue. I painted the entire dresser blue and after it had dried I taped off the diamond shapes with Frog Tape. I painted the Olive green and then the Avocado green paint in the diamonds and when they had dried I pulled off the tape. The next step was to make the dashed white lines and I did this by using a fine-tip chalk pen and a ruler. The last step for this dresser was to seal it with Tung oil.
I love how smooth and easy the GF paint went on my dresser-it made painting easy-peasy!
