Farmhouse Desk with Chippy Goodness

It's that time again!  Time for another furniture flip for The Fab Furniture Flipping Contest.

This month, the Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest’s theme is Farmhouse Fun and it’s sponsored by The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company. The milk paint contains only ingredients that are all-natural and will not harm the environment. It is truly a “green paint” and comes in 20 colors.

Before:

A friend of mine was getting rid of this old desk that had belonged to her Great-Aunt and so I took it off her hands.  I love the delicate legs and the functionality of this desk.  As I was getting ready to paint, my daughter suggested I add a bit of detail to the front.  She helped me choose some appliqués to add and we glued them on.

*Disclosure
I have received products for this post, but all opinions are entirely my own.  This post contains sponsored links from Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company.
I ordered Snow White and Tavern Green

I have used milk paint many times and I love the unpredictability and chippy goodness that comes with using this paint. Milk Paint adds farmhouse charm to any piece.

I mixed up the Snow White powder and then got to painting

After painting the outside of the desk with 3 coats of milk paint, I waited for the chippy magic to happen.

After the paint dried I scraped the paint flakes off and Voila-chippy Goodness!

Added Applique

I painted the inside in a dark grey ( the cubbies did not come out and getting all the corners was so much fun! )

I added new glass knobs

I love the chippy Beauty!

I sealed the entire desk with the Daddy Vans' Furniture polish/wax

I love the delicate legs!

I am loving this desk with its Farmhouse Fun!
