Grey Empire Cabinet

I have a friend who had this great old cabinet and did not want it any more.  Her husband had even sanded it down to get it ready for painting, but they decided it was just to big for the them.  The cabinet ended up at my house and I got to painting.
Before:

First I painted the inside white and then I mixed up grey paint with some blue and got a really nice color and made it in to chalk paint.  My first thought was to paint it grey and then dry brush white over the grey for a textured look.  After I   had finished with the grey a friend came over and loved it with the grey and the white and advised that I keep it that way.  I had decided to do that since the grey was such a pretty grey and her saying that just confined my vision as well.  After the paint dried I distressed and then just clear waxed the cabinet.  I like the crisp white with the grey.  I am very happy with how it turned out.

How cool that it flips down and becomes a desk!

Gorgeous legs--just like the dresser I did last week for my daughters auction (Dresser here)

Old books and a picture I found this weekend at the Flea Market

  4. Gorgeous, gorgeous cabinet! And I love the color you chose for it. I have 2 round floral prints similar to yours. I found them at a barn sale a few years ago. :)
