Lovely Desk

On my weekly searching for furniture I found this great desk and it had to come home with me.
Before:

I love the lines of it and the hardware.  After a quick clean I mixed up some home made chalk paint in French Grey Linen by Benjamin Moore and got right to painting.  I used dark wax/hemp oil to seal and age the desk and then-Viola it was done!

I love everything about this desk!

  9. Darrielle,
This is a desk to fall in love with, I too love it's sweet simple shape, and those pencil post legs are so charming. I could so see the piece sitting off to the side somewhere cute in ones home with a great French basket underneath the desk, a French chair pushed up to it and a cozy lamp ontop. This is a desk to keep and love, such a piece like this could be moved about the home in so many different rooms, even a wall in the kitchen where there is easy access to creating a dinner menu.

Love the paint finish, it's a perfect shade of grey, and the aged effect makes it that much more inspiring.

Thank you beautiful friend for taking the time to visit my place and your comments always add grace and beauty to how and why I create.

See you soon, keep finding those great finds so we can share in the outcome.

    Xx
    bisous

    1. Thank you Dore-I was wondering what to call the legs of this style-love them and know I can call them pencil post legs. I have a buffet with the same style legs-drawn to them I suppose. This was a fun project for me and now the desk is looking for a new home!

  11. Sweet desk! Love that color (and it goes to show you don't have to have THE Annie Sloan French Linen to get this color). Beautiful job!
