Grey French Provincial Chest on Chest

A client brought this lovely chest on chest set of drawers for a a paint transformation.  She had it in her shop for awhile and it didn't sell so she wanted it painted.
Before:

My Client wanted the Chest to be grey and have an aged look with dark wax.  I mixed up some home-made chalk paint in a soft grey and got right to painting.  After 2 coats I sealed and aged the Chest with hemp oil and AS dark wax.  I wanted to make it very aged or "dirty".

Love Boxwood!

Gorgeous hardware

  6. Love the color on this one and the beautiful hardware too. You do such a great job with staging, that rusty piece is a perfect way to hold the boxwood wreath. Thank you for sharing at Vintage Inspiration Party.

  10. Beautiful makeover Darrielle - no surprise that your client was happy with how it turned out! I learned something new in this post. Having never used hemp oil, I didn't realize you could apply dark wax over it. Must remember this - thanks!
