The past 2 weeks I seem to have purchased many dressers and so I have been busy painting.
Before:
I bought this dresser at the Flea Market and even though it was dinged up and missing hardware I knew it needed to come with me for some paint therapy. I thought this dresser would look good in grey and white, so I mixed up some grey chalk paint and my brush started to go to town! After the grey was dry, I handprinted some of the details in white and then sealed it with dark wax/hemp oil.
I seem to add wreaths to many of my photos-they always look good! |
Cutie-Pie legs |
Lovely handles |
I like how dark wax adds character and age |
Rust anyone? |
I am hoping this dresser sells fast so I can have room for more!

Well if I was there I'd be buying one of your dressers. Cause I looked for over two years and finally just broke down and bought a cheapie one to put together for a place to put my undies! That one is a beauty and such a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Thank you Brenda-I wish I loved near to you too and could just swing it by for your undies!
ReplyDelete"Paint therapy?" I love that term. You did a great job on this one. Most of us would've passed it by never seeing the beauty below the dings and dents.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sugar-I love paint therapy!

ReplyDeleteI noticed the wreath right and thought that I need to add a wreath to my armoire.
Thank you-I love boxwood wreaths-I got mine from Decor Steals-so easy to use and a good pop of color!
DeleteOne beautiful makeover. Did you use the hemp oil over the dark wax?
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Thank you Linda-I actually dip my brush in hemp oil and then right in the dark wax and brush on the furniture. I can control the darkness of the wax this way and it just goes on quicker since it is liquified some what.
DeleteSo pretty! What a great transformation and love your tip to Linda about the wax!
ReplyDeleteThank you Suzanne-I like things to be easy so oil and wax together are easy!
