A desk in Icicle and Pocket Watch

It's time again for another Fab Furniture Flip!

This month's contest is being sponsored by COUNTRY CHIC Paint.   The Theme this month was:  Bling Bling!   All participants including myself were given a free quart of paint and a free quart of their COUNTRY CHIC Metallic Cream

*Disclaimer:  I received 1 quart of their paint  and another of their metallic cream for use in this challenge. All opinions 100 %  my own.

Found a French Provincial Desk at the flea market  and the Chavari chair at the GW and knew they  would be perfect for the contest.

Before:

Both of these pieces have great lines and are well built, so I knew the would be good projects for the contest.

I ordered Country Chic's chalk paint in Icicle and metallic cream in Pocket Watch.  Lucky me also got a great paint brush and stirring sticks!
I painted the desk in the Icicle color and I love the coverage and color of this paint!  The paint went on smooth and silky.

While the paint was drying on the desk I painted the chair with two coats of the Pocket Watch and I LOVE the metallic Cream color and effect!

While the chair was drying, I hand painted the details of the desk with two coats of the Pocket Watch.

I sealed the desk with AS dark wax/linseed oil to give a bit of depth and patina.

The last step was painting the hardware with the metallic cream paint and putting it back on.

I am loving the soft blue and the gold together!

I SO love the gold effect!

I am so impressed with this paint the metallic cream!

  1. Wow, the icicle is a gorgeous shade of icy blue. I am not usually a fan of gold with blues, but this is a nice combo. Love the chair!
