Dresser for my Daughter's School Auction

My daughter has her annual school auction and I said I would donate a piece of painted furniture to raise money for the school. I found this great Empire style dresser at the local Flea Market and knew it would be a good piece to paint.
Before:

Veneer issues

The dresser has great legs and shape and I wanted to make it neutral so it would appeal to more bidders.  I mixed up a taupe/beige home made chalk paint and got to painting.  After the paint dried I sealed the dresser with a AS dark wax/hemp oil mixture.  The last step was to go back with my wax brush and whisper on some striations of dark wax to give it more texture.  I like how it turned out and I hope it brings in good money for the school.

I love the legs!

  9. Good Morning Darrielle, My word, what a difference you have made to the dresser. If I am honest, I think if I saw the dresser I would have past it by, but you have taught me a lesson, see things in a different light.
You will raise a lot of money for the school as I feel there will be a lot of people bidding against each other for this piece.
    Best Wishes
