Vibrant Green Milk Paint Dresser

It is time for July's Fab Furniture Flipping' Contest entry!
Theme: “Come On, Let Your Colors Burst!”
Sponsor: Unicorn Spit  – Vibrantly Colored Contest Wood Stain & Finishes
Contest Hosts: Stacy (Anastasia Vintage), Evey (Evey’s Creations), Michelle (Dandelion Patina), Carrie (Thirty Eighth Street), Charlotte (Ciburbanity), Lynn (Fern Avenue)

As I was looking on CL for some furniture, I spotted this great old dresser and went to go pick it up.
Beofre:

The dresser has great bones and the fronts of the drawers were in pretty good shape, but the top and sides were looking BAD!  I wanted to keep the beautiful wood on the fronts of the drawers so I cleaned them up, sanded a little and then wiped them with AS dark wax and Tung oil.  They looked amazing and new!

I wanted to rest of the dresser to be a chippy green, so I pulled out Bayberry by The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co.  and mixed it up.  After painting two coats of green milk paint I scraped off the flakes of paint and sealed it with AS dark wax and Tung Oil.  I love the color and the chippiness!

  4. You know, normally I'm not a big fan of furniture that has two colors, especially when one color is bold, like this green. But you have TOTALLY changed my mind...GORGEOUS!!! I just love this piece. The green really draws your eye in to the pattern of the wood on the drawers. What a great job and an awesome piece!!

  8. Spectacular makeover Darrielle! Love that shade of green. I just used a similar shade on an oak splint basket, though I dry brushed it, so it's a bit lighter. It's a very happy color :)
