MMS Mustard Yellow Dresser with a Pop

A while back I bought this very ugly dresser at the Goodwill.
Before:

After walking by the first time, I went back and gave the dresser a second more thorough inspection.  The dresser was made of solid wood and had dove tailed drawers, (even if one of them did not have a bottom) so I bought it and brought it home.

As you can see the front of all the drawers were  covered in some kind of paper and it was not coming off easily.  I think someone wallpapered it to the drawer fronts.

I did a quick search on Pinterest to see how to remove wallpaper with a home-made solution and then I mixed up vinegar and hot water in a spray bottle and proceeded to spray and scrape.  The paper finally came off and the dresser was pretty again!  I also sanded off the dark green paint from the top and built a drawer bottom from left over wood.

Amanda from Reloved Living had contacted me about using knobs from her new line on a piece of furniture.  I thought this would be a great one, so she sent over 8 gorgeous ceramic knobs in a pretty aqua green color.  I painted the dresser in Miss Mustard Seed Mustard Yellow and after scraping the chips off, I sealed it with dark wax/hemp oil.  The Aqua/green knobs really POP against the yellow drawers.

Chippy Goodness with a ceramic pop!

Gorgeous Knobs!

Such a pretty dresser under the old paper!

  1. Oh, this is such a winning combination from my perspective - my favorite cottage colors together, and those flower pulls! I can see how it sold fast. Truth - I didn't think the before was ugly, but the after is definitely spectacular.

(fonte:aqui)

    FELIZ DIA INTERNACIONAL DAS MULHERES!
