French Provincial Side Table

I found this great bedside/side table at the Flea Market.  It had some black smoke on the sides and looked bad, so I got it for a steal!  The wood was not burned, but just looked like it.  The drawers are dove tailed and the hardware is beautiful so I knew it could turned into a beauty.
Before:
Here is the bad side!
Ugly top:
I got out a few colors of paints and mixed away until I got the color I was visualizing in my head and then I mixed up some home made chalk paint.  I then got out an artist brush and hand painted some Rub n Buff on the details to make them pop.  The last step was to dark wax the piece.  My new method to do this is to have a small cup of MMS hemp oil and then dip my brush in to it and then in the AS dark wax and then wax my piece.  It goes faster and smoother!

Love Hydrangeas!

Love it!

Metal Bird Bath Re-Do

A local store owner  asked me to keep an eye out for garden things for her shop.  I was at the local Flea Market and spotted this ugly metal bird bath that I thought had a lot of potential.  I took a photo with my phone and sent it to her and she thought it could be great if I put my magic to it.

Here it is BEFORE:
This bird bath is heavy and metal and had a bad spray paint job.

My client wanted a bright color to drive the winter blues away and she wanted it in a blue color.  I mixed up my own color and made it into chalk paint.  The next step was to dark wax the whole thing and I also added some hemp oil.

I love green and aqua!

 She was happy!

Apron String Beauty!

I was at the Flea Market again and this time it was more fun because my husband came with me.   He likes to look at junk and is great to have around to carry things back to the car!

I found this great dresser that had issues with the drawers, but had beautiful lines.  I bought it of course. I actually dumped out all my remaining cash and bargained down to a very good price.

Here is the dresser BEFORE I got my hands on it:
the top needs some work!
some dings!

I recently bought Miss Mustard Seeds Apron Strings and was waiting for a piece like this to try it on.
I sanded down the top and waxed it with AS dark wax.  It is so buttery smooth.

Love Turned legs!

I love that the chippy paint covers the veneer dings and adds character

I love the variations in the colors--this reminds me of sunset in Hawaii
The color of the wood is much prettier in person--bad picture

This color reminded me of the old milk jug I have on my front porch so I put the mirror next to it and it was the same color.  The milk jug use to be red and has now faded to a pinky color.

A local Dealer came by for something else and saw the dresser and wants it in her shop!
