I found this chest of drawers at the Flea Market and it had to come home with me.
Before:
This piece is old and has good bones, but needed some TLC. I thought of storing fabric in the great drawers and Cath Kidson ( http://www.cathkidston.com ) and her cheery look came to mind. I decided to put fabric on the inside drawer fronts. First I mixed up an aqua home made chalk paint and got to painting. I then used some of the paint and lightened it with white and did a quick dry bush over the piece. I pulled out 3 different cheerful and fresh pieces of fabrics from my stash (the stash is taking up my small closet in the office!). I placed my fabric on my counter and then put the drawer fronts face down on it and traced around the drawer front. I cut out the pattern with a little extra to fold over for a hem. I decided to Modge Podge the fabric on to the fronts and then Modge Podge over the entire fabric. I like how it turned out and the fabric is sort of rough and it feels very sturdy. I distressed the chest of drawers and sealed it with wax/hemp oil.
