I actually found this vanity/desk on Craigslist and thought it could be so cute with an new paint job. It has a curvy front and delicate legs.
Before:
I wanted to make this a Frenchy vanity so the first thing I did was add a few appliqués from Doityourselfchic.com. While the glue was drying on the appliqué I mixed up some home made chalk paint in grey. I made it sort of thick since I wanted it to chip some. After painting it, I distressed it with both a shading block and scraper. I wanted both the wood and the white to show. The next thing I did was to seal it with dark wax/hemp oil. My last step was adding some gold with Rub n Buff.
I think it is Frenchified and old looking now!
