Coastal Desk

I found this great desk at the Flea Market last week and knew it could be beautiful with a little paint.
Before:

It was missing a knob and had a very ugly laminate top with some major dings.  I tried to remove the laminate top-I was envisioning a smooth wood top and painted base.  I couldn't remove it and so I filled in the dings with filler and got out my paint.  I made up some home made chalk paint in Garlic Glove by Benjamin Moore and painted away.  Since the desk was so dark to start with I needed to paint many coats of white.  Luckily for me the day was sunning and beautiful and the paint dried so fast.  I wanted the desk to be solid white and the knobs to be the pop of color.  After painting I distressed the desk and sealed it with AS clear wax.  I added turquoise knobs and I love how it turned out.
