Kitchen Scale Milk Paint Dresser

A few weeks ago I found this great empire style dresser at the Flea Market and brought it home.

Before:
This dresser had great bones, but was dinged and banged up and needed a bit of care.  Kitchen Scale by Miss Mustard Seed   is one of my favorite colors and so this dresser got a milk paint treatment.
After 2 coats of milk paint the chippy magic started to happen and I helped it along with my spackle knife.  The last step was to seal it with AS dark wax/tung oil!

Love the legs with the wooden castors

I decided to keep the hardware that came with the dresser

    1. Thank you Sandi-I love the color and I did paint it with MMS milk paint, but it is nice to find pieces that you don't have to do any thing too.

  8. Gorgeous! You know I love that color too. I haven't used it in a while, but I have a very dark dresser waiting to be painted and your post reminds me how well Kitchen Scale covers on a dark piece. I might just have to pull that color out again!

  11. The Empire Revival style is great in terms of bones but rather heavy visually. I just finished a library table in that style. I really like how the Kitchen Scale lightened her up. It makes her a fun, statement piece. I saw your link at the Vintage Inspiration Party. Ann Marie @ Iris Abbey www.irisabbey.com
