A Bit of Christmas around my House

I have not had a chance to pull down the Christmas bins of decoration from the attic yet, but I wanted to start decorating out house.  I decided to go with a red and white look this year and here is the start.

I bought a fresh Juniper garland and some ruby red pomegranates from TJ's.

Raffia apples

Rusty Crusty Sconces

At Night

I added a few touches to my dinning table as well

My bedroom even got a few touches of Christmas!

I made a red and white bunting from fabric scraps

An Orchid in Ironstone

Frosty Ferns and a polka-dot Reindeer

  8. Beautiful! Your mantel is gorgeous and looks wonderful with the pretty mirror, greenery and pops of red. The old sconces are great pieces and such a great idea with the ribbon wrapped 'candles'. Beautiful bedroom and fun garland too.

  15. Oh, yes, it's all so wonderful, it already feels complete. Now I have to say the Faux fire surround and mantel is fabulous and the mirror tops it all off. Perfect choice with the greenery and reds, I am seeing so much of it this year that I too had considered doing some red, red not truly being my colour, and it would be a,far reach for me to do so, but I am feeling the look everywhere I look and I really love how it makes me feel, maybe I will add that one little piece of red.

My dear truly there is not a thing here I would not add to my home, I just added sconces to my home, and yours I would have also snagged up I'm a minute and they perhaps would have flanked my kitchen hutch top.
Looking forward to what comes out of the attic.

See you soon dear, keep inspiring your beauty we all love so dearly.
    Xx
    Blessings

    1. Thank you Dore-for some reason I was just feeling like red and white this year for the holidays. Aren't crusty rusty sconces the best? I hope to get the bins out of the attic this weekend and decorate the rest of my house with my daughter's help. We will be going to chop down our Christmas Tree too-love this family tradition!

  18. I love that cotton boll wreath! And I also especially love the look in your bedroom with the bunting and the red and white pillows. Lovely. Question for you, have you used live evergreen garland inside before? I'm wondering how fast it dries out and turns brown. I purchased some this year intending to use it outside, but I really want to use it inside instead. But I've read a few things online that suggest it won't last. Do you have any experience with that?

    1. Thank you Linda-the cotton wreath is from Decor Steals.com and I made the bunting from scrapes of fabric. I used a real juniper garland on my mantel last year and this year. It does dry our, but still stays green just a darker green. I think it still looks fine even when it is not fresh so I say go for it!

  19. Love it all! I always want to decorate with pomegrantes but they're so expensive so I usually don't. Yours look great, perhaps I could find some faux ones....I'm a fresh greens fanatic myself, got two garlands this year. Yours looks perfect on the mantel. I've always wanted a cotton wreath as well.....looks like we have very similar tastes!xoKathleen
