Finds of the Week

I of course visited the local thrift stores and the Flea Market this week and here are my treasures.

Chippy old green folding chair-love the color!

Striped King Pillow Shams

Old blue metal garbage can that I will be using for my Memorial Day BBQ

Great old dresser-I have painted it with milk paint and will post about this week

Love this chair--having it upholstered with grain sack fabric

I love the details of this chair and I can fix the seat ( I hope!)

Small Ironstone pitcher with roses from my garden

Silver bowl that I will use for my keys!

  7. Thank you Darrielle, for taking the time to visit me and adding grace and beauty with your comment.
I just love being on the hunt for treasures, well maybe not always a treasure until we have created something beautiful from it or add it to our home and letting it take on a whole presence that it does in the mix of our finds.
I just found two French golden yellow Pottery Barn pillow shams for $3.99 that would look great with your yellow chest of drawers in your last post... Not being one who prefers designing around yellow there was something great about this find that may push me over the edge in Creating a bit of yellow in my home. Does yellow count as a darker shade of white ? :)

Thank you again for taking time this holiday weekend to visit me and all I inspire.
    Have a beautifully inspiring weekend.

    See you soon

    1. Thank you Dore-I love the hunt! Yellow is not my thing very often but sometime I just love it. I just used an antique chenille embroidery yellow and white bedspread as curtains in my office and got a great yellow rug. It feels cheerful and happy in my office. Have a grew Memorial Day Weekend!

  8. Oh do I envy your awesome treasures, the dresser and that wood chair with cane seat are my favorites. There's something about those old chairs that appeals to me so much. The details are so gorgeous.
You can fix caned seat. We bought a chair many years ago at Stadium swap meet in San Diego. Hubs found place to buy new caning and you need the strapping that goes around seat. Not sure that's what it's called. We still have that chair and seat is still in good shape. Our chair is oak, we got it for $10, I want to paint it but hubs says no. It's just sitting out in our shed. We still have piece of caning and the strapping and we've moved state to state 3 times since we bought it. Your chair has much nicer details than ours. Hope you can find what you need to fix it. Happy weekend

  9. Thank you-I don't think I will fix the caning, I think I will use wood and foam to make a new one. I will see what inspires me this week. Good luck with your chair!

  12. That dresser look pretty-- can't wait to see what you've done with it. I also like both the chairs--
don't you just love vintage dishes for holding keys and things? I have two old pieces of pottery I use in two different places for phones and chargers.
