Mustard Yellow Dresser

Another dresser-as you know I love dressers so when I found this one at the Flea Market I bought it.
Before:

I started to take out the drawers before I remembered to take a photo! The dresser had this very ugly laminate top and I hated it so I got out my chisel and hammer and started to take it off.  Lucky me-it came off in one piece!

I wanted the top natural wood so I sanded it down and just applied hemp oil.  It is such pretty wood.

This dresser just looked like it should be yellow to me, so I got out Mustard Yellow milk paint by Miss Mustard Seed and started to paint away.  After the paint had dried I scraped the chips off. The last step for me was to seal it with dark wax/hemp oil.

I didn't get very good photos because a lady came and bought it before I had photographed and  I had to take pictures fast!

I debated about taking the appliqué off, but just decided to leave it and see how it turned out.

I love how pretty the top is now

  1. It's gorgeous! Lucky it had that laminate top to protect the wood so you could refinish it perfectly!
