Beach Glass Blue Dresser

Right before Christmas a client brought me a dresser that she wanted painted for her shop.

Before:
This dresser is well made and has great details and hardware, but needed to be a better color.  Her only criteria for this dresser was that it be a light color, but she left everything else up to me.  I love having the freedom to paint a piece the way I envision it.

I made home-made chalk paint from Ooopsie paint from my local paint store-I am calling it Beach Glass Blue.  I painted the dresser with 2 coats of the blue and then painted the details with white using an artist brush.  I slightly distressed the edges with my spackle knife and then I sealed the dresser with AS clear wax.   After I put the gorgeous hardware back on, my client picked up her  dresser and was thrilled!

Lovely details

Swoon-worthy legs!

  1. I love that distressing (and the dresser too of course). I guess I'm going to have to find out what a sparkle knife is cuz I'm gonna need one!
