French Provincial Vanity

A week of so back I found this great French Provincial Vanity at my local Flea Market and knew it could be a winner with a bit of help.
Before:

I love the shape of this piece and the fact that the middle section opens up into a mirror.  I pulled out Coastal Bliss and Marshmallow from The Urban Rooster and mixed them together until I got a soft aqua.  After 2 coats of paint, I used a small artist brush to paint on Gilders Paste in gold.  I just felt like this piece needed a bit of gold!  I also added the gilders paste to the pulls and then sealed the vanity with tung oil/dark wax.

I love the fancy hardware

Bougainvillea in a watering tin=LOVE!

This piece is ready for a new home and I am off to find more Treasures!

  1. Very beautiful -- love the color you chose and the gilding paste is a perfect enhancement detail. I haven't yet used gilding paste on a furniture piece but will have to try. I have a French Provincial night stand in my furniture queue waiting to be re-done -- it will be a perfect project to try gilding on it. Thanks for the inspiration.

  6. Oh, my. She is lovely. Sure, she started out with good links and hardware, but you've transformed her into a delicate, ethereal beauty. Great job. I saw your link at The Curator's Collection link party. Ann Marie @ Iris Abbey www.irisabbey.com

  10. I just saw your link at The Curator's Collection party and couldn't believe my eyes...I just redid this same EXACT piece! Mine was done for the bedroom of two little girls, so it took on a complete different look. Check it out here:http://www.findingpurposefurniture.com/2015/10/20/spray-it-pretty-the-updated-vanity/
