Queen Anne Secretary Desk with a pop of COLOR!

I wanted to go bold on another furniture transformation  so I went with my gut on this one.
Before:

I love Apron Strings by Miss Mustard Seed and I am always wanting to find a project to paint with this color.  I decided to go with grey on the outside (stay with the traditional style) and go bold on the inside.  I mixed up a custom grey home-made chalk paint and painted the outside grey.  I mixed up Apron Strings and added the bonding agent for the inside.  After the paint dried I sealed the entire piece with dark wax/hemp oil.  To made the hardware more appealing I used Rub n Buff in Autumn Gold since it has a coral tint to the gold.  I am very happy with how the desk turned out!

    2. I'm with both of you! Painting those cubbies inside a secretary desk can be a chore. But the Apron String interior was definitely worth it. Looks fab!
